Soul Healing for Transforming Bullying

Outside the grocery store were two eager volunteers asking for donations for a program to help stop bullying in schools. On my favorite TV show was an episode about bullying of a transgender student. All over the Internet I was seeing articles about the harmful effects of bullying.

If you are reading this blog, you probably already know that many people living with HIV/AIDS come from some of the most marginalized communities in our societies. The vast majority of those with HIV/AIDS have been bullied for something.

And bullying doesn’t stop in school. Right now, I am dealing with a couple of people in my life whose way of behaving with people includes a great deal of bullying. It happens in the corporate world, in social organizations, in domestic relationships, in life. It takes up hours of our lives, leaves us feeling helpless and hopeless, stifles creativity, and creates bad karma.

What can Soul Healing teach us about bullying?

The most important thing Soul Healing can teach us is that love melts all blockages. There is nothing in the world so negative that enough love cannot transform it.

I remember having a conversation with a man who had felt he was bullied and had reacted with equal negativity and force. The situation escalated and became very unpleasant for both of the participants and everyone around them. It was part of my job to intervene. I certainly had much empathy for him, and agreed that bullying is never appropriate. When I asked him about his reaction, he felt very justified in behaving that way. “It’s the only thing bullies understand. I have been bullied all my life, and the only way to stop a bully is to stand up and fight back.”

I had to sit with that and think about it. At face value, it seems true enough. But, something about it didn’t seem right. Does fighting back really stop bullying? In this case, it only left everyone feeling negative, and I would imagine would lead the bully to more bullying – maybe of someone else.

The second thing that Soul Healing can teach us about bullying is that reacting to with negativity creates bad karma. When we, as individuals, as communities, as nations, react to negativity with more negativity, the wheel of karma just keeps turning. The way to end bullying is not to fight back.

The third thing that Soul Healing teaches us is that the root cause of everything in our lives is karma. If we experience bullying, it almost certainly means that we have been the bully in another life. And now, our karma is coming back to us. We may have bullied the person who is now bullying us. We may have bullied others.

This does not mean we deserve to be bullied, or that we should continue to put ourselves into situations where we are bullied. Get help and get safe, if you can!

But, from a Soul Healing perspective, until we transcend the karma, we will keep getting bullied. Reacting to someone else’s negativity with more negativity will only bring us more bad karma, more ways in which others will act negatively towards us.

The fourth thing that Soul Healing can teach us about bullying is to transform all darkness with Divine Love, Forgiveness, Compassion and Light.

Understand that if the bully had more consciousness, more awareness, more soul intelligence, he or she would not resort to bullying. To feel that one must bully in order to get what one wants is to exist in a very low state of consciousness. Living in this consciousness is its own kind of hell. For someone who is stuck in this state, and living in this misery, can we not find compassion?

And when someone is suffering, can we not send them love and light?

Which takes us back to lesson number one: love melts all blockages. There is nothing in the world so negative that enough love cannot transform it.

Soul Conferencing to Stop Bullying

Find a quiet, safe place for this practice. If you can, play the Divine Soul Song of Love Peace and Harmony softly in the background.

Sit with your back away from the chair, as you are able. Place one hand on the Message Center. The Message Center is a fist-sized energy center in the middle of your chest, directly behind the sternum, or breastbone. You may know this area as the Heart Chakra. Place the other hand over the Ming Men acupuncture point. The Ming Men acupuncture point is in the middle of the lower back, straight back from the naval, or belly button.

Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths all the way down to the Ming Men acupuncture point. Visualize golden light flowing down from your Message Center to your Ming Men acupuncture point.

Ask the soul of the person who is bullying to come before you. Apologize for anything you have done to hurt this soul in any lifetime. Apologize for any bullying you did in any lifetime.

Forgive the person who is bullying. If he or she knew better, he or she would do better. It is only out of spiritual ignorance that he or she is behaving this way. The only way to release yourself from the negativity of the situation is to forgive and release it. If it is too much for you to forgive, ask the Divine to help.

Ask Divine Love, Forgiveness, Compassion and Light to transform your relationship.

Chant:
Divine love transforms this relationship
Divine forgiveness transforms this relationship.
Divine compassion transforms this relationship.
Divine light transforms this relationship.

Divine love transforms this relationship
Divine forgiveness transforms this relationship.
Divine compassion transforms this relationship.
Divine light transforms this relationship.

Divine love transforms this relationship
Divine forgiveness transforms this relationship.
Divine compassion transforms this relationship.
Divine light transforms this relationship.

Keep chanting these phrases.

End by offering gratitude to the Divine, and asking all souls to “respectfully return” to where they belong.

Chant as long and as often as you can, until your feelings about the situation transform, or until the bullying stops.

These suggestions are meant to be used along with taking appropriate action such as reporting the bullying to school officials, your boss or HR department, the police, or others who can intervene, as appropriate. They are meant to help at the soul level. They will help at the soul level. They can help tremendously on the emotional level. And you may find very fast results on the physical level as well.
